A golf buggy or golf cart is a small vehicle originally designed originally to carry two golfers and their golf clubs around golf courses with less effort than walking. A golf buggy can normally be hired in advance from the golf club and for some, mean the difference between being able to enjoy and play golf or having to give it up altogether through handicap or mobility issues.

A golf buggy can come in a wide range of formats and are more generally used to convey small numbers of passengers short distances at speeds less than 15 mph They are generally around 4 feet wide × 8 feet long and powered by 4-stroke engines.  This is where Patterson Products saw the opportunity to make a 'mobile mobility golf buggy'.

Hiring the use of a golf buggy in advance is all good and well but availability often determines when golfer can - and can't play. Patterson came up with the design for a one seat electric golf buggy that would not only stay the course but break down into transportable components that fit into most average sized cars. This meant that golfers could book rounds without having to rely on the clubs own buggies and, could travel to other clubs as they like.

Hence the Trio Original was eventually put into production and remains a best selling product to this day.

Further development of the Trio led to the creation of the Eventer 4 which, as it suggests, is a four wheeled alternative. Then came the Highlanders which were based on both the three and four wheeled Golf buggies but which feature more powerful motors and rugged, all terrain tyres. The Highlanders were developed for longer and more more demanding golf courses.

Patterson Products have suppliers across the UK and Ireland and ship to Spain and/or destinations throughout Europe as required. Working from their dedicated factory workshop in Chertsey, Surrey, the Patterson team build to order and provide service that's second to none.
